Simple Mulled Wine Recipe

Here’s our super simple & cost effective mulled wine recipe to help you get festive for less this Christmas!

 

So, it’s getting super close to Christmas now and that means the Christmas decorations are out, Mariah’s all I want for Christmas is on, on every single radio station and more importantly, it’s MULLED WINE TIME! Which we think is one of the most exciting things, we have an excuse to drink more wine, what could be better? We thought that you might want a really simple and inexpensive mulled wine recipe so here it is!

Ingredients

4 Oranges

1 Lemon

250g Caster sugar

4 Cloves

2 Cinnamon Sticks

2 Bottles of red wine

Step 1

Grate the zest of one of the oranges into a saucepan and squeeze the juice into a cup.

Step 2

Grate the zest of the lemon into the saucepan and squeeze the juice into the cup.

Step 3

Chop your remaining oranges into slices and place them in the pan.

Step 4

Add chopped oranges, cinnamon sticks and cloves to the pan then pour in both bottles of red wine and the orange and lemon juice. Heat gently at around 60°C for around 10 minutes – do NOT let the mixture boil. Add the sugar to taste, stirring it to ensure that it has all dissolved.

Step 6

Keep it going on a low heat and serve. Top tip: This recipe can be made in a slow cooker. Follow the same process and leave to infuse on a low heat for 1-2 hours.

Presentation

To add something a little extra get, add a slice of orange & cinnamon stick or clove into each cup for an added special touch to your presentation.
