Method 2

What you need:

Flowers – Real or faux in different sizes and colours that suit you – why not use one of our summer bouquets for beautiful and bright colours?

Floral Wire

Scissors

Green tape

1. Choose and prepare your flowers

When choosing your flowers have a think about the look you are going for. For something more fun opt for a variety of sizes, colours and stems or if you want to be boho chic try smaller, neutral coloured flowers with fewer varieties and more greenery.

If you are using fresh flowers trim about an inch off the bottom of each flower and leave them in a vase of water for around an hour so that they are well hydrated before you begin to make your flower crown.

2. Make the base of your flower crown

Wind the floral wire around your head to find the right length. Then, use scissors to cut the wire and then twist the ends together. Leave about ΒΌ inch of wiggle room, because you’re going to add flowers and greenery. Use the green tape to cover the twisted ends; this will protect you from any sharp bits.

3. Add greenery

Begin wrapping your greenery around the wire and use wire to secure it to the ring. Ensure any ends of the wire are tucked away and covered with small pieces of tape. This will create a beautiful and lush base for your flowers.

4. Add flowers

Now that you have a head band of greenery you can begin to add your flowers. Trim each flower so there’s an inch or two of stem left under the bloom. Use the wire to fasten the stem to your crown.

Begin with your biggest flowers and distribute them evenly across the crown and then begin to fill in the gaps with your smaller blooms.

Congratulations! Your flower crown’s ready to go.

5. Keeping your flower crown fresh

Depending on the flowers and greenery, flower crowns can last anywhere from a day up to a week. If you’re preparing your flower crown ahead of time, you can keep it looking its best by misting it and popping it in the fridge overnight. You can keep it misting whilst wearing it to help the flowers perk up too.
