They first popularized the name “Black Friday” by saying it to express their frustration at the congestion caused by the masses people arriving into town to watch the Army-Navy football game held on that Saturday every year.

Black Friday first began in North America, it always comes after the Thursday of Thanks Giving. It has now travelled over seas to the sunny UK (Sunny being the joke).
