WARNING – Florals, glitter and sequins inside! Here’s a little festival inspo on this year’s trends.
Festival season is upon us and yes, we are all super excited. So it’s time to make sure your festival fashion is on point! This year’s trends are a magical mix of floral fashions, glitter, sequins and more glitter! There are so many options so here’s a little festival inspo to help you get started..
Flower Crowns
Is a festival really a festival without a flower crown? Your tent might be drowned and you may be stuck in the mud at Leeds Fest but with a flower crown, we can pretend that you’re in the sunshine at Coachella! There are so many varieties and colours to choose from, opt for a simple design with small flowers for a subtle look, or if you just want to be super extra, be the flower queen that you are and go all out with big, bold flowers and make a statement.
Festival Hair
We love festivals because they make the abnormal, normal, the extraordinary, ordinary. You CAN dye your hair bright blue and cover your head with glitter, wear wellies all weekend and nobody bats an eyelid. These hairstyles look AMAZING, braids are all the rage. If you want to add a pop of colour without getting sacked for having green hair on Monday morning, you can buy a temporary colour spray which will allow you to be festival chic but can simply be washed away the very next day. Add glitter to your parting for some extra snazz. Go for chunky glitter so that it really stands out.
Floral Face Paint
Get the face paint out! Floral designs are perfect for the festival season and can be really simple yet effective to create. If you’re artsy you could even go for flower eyeliner like the images above! Match your design to your outfit and you’re good to go.
Festival Makeup
This is where you can get super creative. Blue lippy? Sure! But most of all more GLITTER. Put glitter on your face, on your lips, on your eyes, anywhere but definitely not everywhere.. Unless you want to of course, be a walking disco ball for all we care! If you prefer a more subtle look, go for a touch of glitter on your eyelids, this will beautifully bring your look together.
Festival Fashion
There are sooo many looks to go for with festival fashion. The most popular trends are florals, western styles, sequins, mesh and statement jewellery.. or a combination of them all. For Coachella vibes opt for a short floral playsuit or dress paired with western style boots and belt then top it off with a fedora for the special touch. Alternatively, get your best denim shorts out and pair it with a mesh top with floral appliques, belt and wellies and you’re good to go. You may want to go for something more simple and let your makeup do the talking! There’s a wide variety of styles to go for, you’re sure to find something to suit you.
Festival Nails
Yes, even your nails can be ready for a festival. Recent nail trends include chrome, unicorn chrome and irridescence. Another simple yet effective detail is to have a super plain nail, either clear or nude accented with a simple stud or star as seen in the top left image. Just like fashion, florals are always on trend for the festival season, these intricate designs look amazing and are the perfect addition to any look.
Festival Body Art
Body art is another fab way to be on point for a festival. This year’s trends include temporary gold and silver tattoos along with floral henna designs and most importantly glitter boobs! Temporary tattoos are super simple yet really effective. You can buy them online or in many high street stores and can simply be washed away when you are done! Henna is a little more long lasting and usually takes an experienced artist to be completed but they look beautiful. And yes, the one you’ve been waiting for… GLITTER BOOBS! Could there possibly be anything more extra? We don’t think so. It’s not exactly the most comfortable or feasible trend, but, it does look amazing.
