Halloween is nearly here, you have your costume and your decorations but what about the food? These 5 Halloween recipes will have your guests spooked but the spell of deliciousness will have them failing to resist these tasty treats.

1) Dead Man Finger Sandwiches

These little finger sandwiches are so effective and a great appetizer at any party! All you need to do is to remove the crust and gently flatten the bread with a rolling pin. Spread some butter or margarine (you can even use smooth peanut butter or cream cheese) and roll up the sandwiches like fingers. Cut the sandwich fingers to your desirable size and indent 3 lines with a blunt knife to form the finger joint. Next, stick almonds on to each finger with butter to form the nails. For a more dramatic effect, add some strawberry jam over the end of the fingers to make it look like blood!

2) Ghostly Marshmallows

These ghostly marshmallows are so easy and simple to knock up! Just add 2 or 3 white marshmallows onto a skewer and cover with melted white chocolate. Refrigerate until the chocolate has gone hard then decorate using different colour icing for the eyes and mouth! You can also dribble over strawberry sauce to make the blood!

3) Icy Witch

How good are these witch look-a-like ice creams? Not to mention that they taste divine! Head to the shops and grab yourself a tub of vanilla icecream and carefully scoop the icecream for the face (preferably using an icecream scoop) and wrap each scoop in plastic wrap and freeze until firm (at least 3 hours). Use shredded wheat for the hair, just simply pull the wheat into thin strips and spread melted milk chocolate onto your icecream cone for the witch hat. Once the icecream is firm, unwrap your scoops, place them on a plate and decorate! Add your wheat hair, your icecream cone witch hat and sweets for the face! Use chocolate chips for the eyes, gummy sweets for the noise and strawberry lace for the mouth! Be careful she doesn’t melt!

4) Eerie Eyeball Pops

These spooky chocolate cake balls will be a hit with your guests! All you need is a Maderia cake, some cookies, milk and white chocolate, skewers, smarties and icing pens to decorate. Simply break the Maderia cake and cookies into a food processor and pour in the melted milk chocolate, whizz to combine. Tip this mixture into a bowl and use your hands to roll the mixture into balls, refrigerate for 2 hours until really firm. Push the balls onto each skewer then carefully spoon the white chocolate over the cake balls to completely cover. Lastly, decorate your eye-balls using smarties for the pupil and use icing pens to create the veins. For a more dramatic effect, stick your eyeball pops into a pumpkin and scatter fake plastic spiders.
